Computer Music 08.2008 This disc boasts over 1500 house loops and one-shot sounds. While not necessarily up to the standards of some of the other Mutekki Media sample discs, Housemeister Session One certainly provides adecent assortment of well-produced samples, at tempos between 120 and 135bpm. The focus of the disc is tech·house, but you won't have any trouble using the sounds in other flavours of dance music. Aside from some great drums, there are vocals, bass and sound effects that are weil categorised and ready for action. Some sampies sound a little on the cheap side, but it's nothing a few minor tweaks wouldn't fix. 7/10

logicuser.de Housemeister Session One von Mutekki Media Ltd. widmet sich vorwiegen der House-Musik, aber auch für Techno- und Dance-Musik ist diese Sample-Library eine wahre Fundgrube. Alle Einzel-Samples und Loops liegen in 16bit mit 44.1KHz WAV vor, klingen frisch und unverbraucht. Die Library beinhaltet Drumloops, Percussionloops, Bassloops, Bassdrums, Claps, Cymbals, FX und Vocals. Der Einsatz mit dem EXS Sampler steht nix im Wege, sämtliche EXS-Programme sind ebenfalls auf der CD vorhanden.
Die Drumloops reichen von minimal House bis hin zu Tribal und liegen in Variationen vor, was das arrangieren etwas erleichtert, lediglich Break-Variationen fehlen. Auch die Percussionloops, die von HiHat-Loops bis hin zu Samba-Rhythmen reichen, bieten alles was man für amtliche House-Produktionen benötigt. Wer ehr elektronische Klänge bevorzugt, hat mit den Industrialloops und den FX-Loops seine wahre Freude.
Zur Ergänzung der Loops findet man aber auch Bassdrums, Claps, HiHats, Rides, Shaker und Becken auf der Library. Wer also seine Beats lieber selbst programmieren möchte kommt nicht zu kurz. Lediglich Snardrums vermisst man auf der Session One, hier hat Mutekki allerdings mit Housemeister Add-On nachgelegt und stellt diese auf ihrer Webseite kostenlos zur Verfügung.
Bei den Vocals handelt es sich um Sprachfetzen, die zwar sehr sauber klingen, sich aber wohl nur schwer in einer Produktion einsetzen lassen. Ähnlich verhält es sich auch mit den Bassloops.

Fazit:
Housemeister Session One ist eine wertvolle Erweiterung zu einer bestehenden Library. Die Loops passen sich nahtlos in jede Produktion, lediglich die Vocal- und Bass-Samples konnten nicht wirklich überzeugen. Verglichen mit anderen Sample-Library´s á la Ueberschall House Essential kann Housemusic Session One durchaus mit halten. Wir sind auf Session Two gespannt.
