Electrify for iPad - Review

Electrify is a groovebox with 8 tracks, based on about 600 Mutekki-Media samples. Once loaded into the sequencer, there are 6 parameters available for each step. The integrated mixer offers 2 buses with 8 different effects. Unfortunately, neither the embedding of your own samples, nor exporting your finished work is possible. However, these functions are announced for future updates. The attractive visual appearance is only one other reason to keep an eye on the development of this software.

"I think the whole SOR series are a grail of good stuff actually useful to find their way in real records. Even if I donŽt really use loops, the way the loops are produced in this series makes it easy to chop and cut them up into easy-to-isolate one-shot samples. I chopped up big parts from Minimal Tech Revolution and Kick Free Revolution. Takes time, but its really worth it. No resampled samples from other sampled stuff that took their samples also from other tracks/samples. No overused dynamics or effects and stuff, so you can easily tweak them to your own style. Thats what the most important for me and the biggest failure and mistake of nearly all other sample libraries. The amount of useful one shot samples that I got out of this series is massive. And I absolutely love the experimental section."

I've been buying a lot of sample cds and soundbanks over the years. Some of em really only have one or two usable sounds. Many cds depend on loops that sound distantly familiar or require a lot of processing before you can start thinking of using them. I recently went over quite a few cds and sample banks of the Vengeance series and I was pleasantly surprised. These sounds are clearly made by people that have the same frustration with sample cds as me. You can hear that the creators go to clubs often and know what works on a big soundsystem! The way I make music is I want to get excited about a certain sound or sample. These cds gave me that rush, there're so many good sounds! You'll be back in the studio making new music before you know it.

Finally a company that knows what we want! There must be about a million different sample-cds out there. Honestly, you only need the Essential House Collection for those bangin' drums and beats. No wonder you can spot these sounds in almost every big dance tune. I just can't wait for the VEH 3! I think that I've used the Vengeance Effects 1 in almost every track I've produced for the last couple of years. I think that speaks for it self!

The Vengeance line of sample cd's are some of my absolute favorites. This series has the hottest sounds and work amazing in all types of EDM. The quality is great and the choice of sounds are authentic club as you can get. I use Logic and having the EXS files make the sample cds even better having instant access to all the sounds conveniently mapped out. I use Electro Essentials, Essential House 1 & 2 and Minimal House. When a new volume comes out- you never have to question how good it is - just buy it!
